This is the platform that provides many Rotarians and friends with that real opportunity to contribute with your sleeves rolled up and hands on work. Mostly in the form of working bees we are able to add to the maintenance and beautification of various facilities and thoroughfares in and around Melbourne. For many years Rotary Central Melbourne has held an annual gardening day in the sensory gardens of Royal Talbot Hospital and McAuley House for women.
A current project under early development is the Goldsborough lane Farmers Market. Very unique in that this brings the much desired opportunity to shop in a market experience often enjoyed only by those in rural or suburban areas. Residents, office workers and short term visitors in the surrounding hotels are able to wander amongst the stalls of organic produce and other wares without having to leave the CBD. Rotary Central Melbourne continues to work with partners including the City of Melbourne, Lentara Uniting Care, Victorian Farmers Market Association and GPT Property Group to ensure this grows even bigger in 2017.
