Rotary Peace Center (Bangkok) Residential Program – Reflections

In 2015, Andrew was nominated by Melbourne District 9800 as the 2016 Victoria Police Rotary Peace Fellow. As a result of this nomination, Andrew participated in the 11 week residential peace and conflict resolution program at the Rotary Peace Center at Chulalongkorn University between January and April 2017.

Constable he performed community policing and crime investigation duties including the investigation of serious and major crime. He has also performed operational supervision duties and corporate roles including Human Resource Management and Performance Management.

Andrew became a Commissioned Officer in 2005. As a Commissioned Officer he has performed a diverse range of roles including:

  • Leadership Development, which encompasses the design and delivery of leadership development programs from supervisor to senior management level.
  • Local Area Commander, leading the delivery of Community Engagement & Community Policing services to a population of 280,000.
  • Investigation & Response Manager, leading the investigation of volume crime, sex offence & child abuse, drug and covert investigations across three local area commands.
  • Manager of the Learning Development & Standards Division at the Victoria Police Academy, leading the development and review of education and learning programs including education policy development, educational quality standards and the production of online and multimedia based learning.
  • Project roles, included the co-development and implementation of the Victoria Police Cultural, Community and Diversity Education Strategy, developed to address the Victoria Police response to a High Court Settlement alleging racial profiling against Victoria Police.
