While modern medicine has been of the greatest benefit to us, that has not prevented medical rogues of various kinds taking advantage of their position and their patient’s vulnerability, sometimes in hilariously funny ways but sometimes with disastrously horrific results.

 

Elizabeth Pittman has a doctorate in the sociology of education. Before beginning her academic career she trained as a nurse. Her main interest in her retirement is the cultural history of medicine.
