Richard Dent OAM, CEO at Leadership Vic

Leading Ethically in Complex Times

Leadership in the 21st century is fundamentally different. Social media, globalisation, a new and aware generation, digital disruption, and more: how do we exercise leadership ethically in our organisations, our communities and our own lives?

Richard has worked in for-purpose organisations for more than two decades, holding roles in leadership and governance, child, family, disability, advocacy/policy agencies, peak bodies and professional associations.

Richard is a Harvard Club Fellow, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has two Masters degrees, a committed Rotarian, and a recipient of the Order of Australia Medal.

Richard’s creed is to bring together business, government and civic organisations to make progress in complex issues for Victoria, Australia and the world, particularly relating to economic wellbeing, adapting to digital disruption, fostering social fairness, maintaining a sustainable environment and upholding human rights.

He views civic leaders as the key to humanity's progress at the current critical juncture. Leaders whose focus is business, government or NGOs can all make the difference. Humans have never needed good leadership more than we do right now.
