Robina Bradley and Karen Quist: St Mary's House of Welcome

Robina will be speaking on the history and work of St. Mary’s House of Welcome as a specialist access point for homelessness in the northwest of Melbourne. She will include the continued and growing importance of their work as the burden of cost of living and access to housing remain key social issues. She will share some stories of their impact and the way they partner with organisations like Rotary to be able to extend their reach and supports for the most vulnerable.

Robina is an experienced company director with executive experience in both executive and non-executive director roles across a diverse range of public and not-for-profit companies in health and community services.

After an early career in photography in both Melbourne and London, Karen returned to study, completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Professional Writing and Editing in 2008. After graduating, she enjoyed a freelance career writing a diversity of communications material for major corporations, small businesses, and not-for-profits while raising her children.

With a longstanding interest in social justice, Karen was drawn to the non-profit sector. When she sought to return to formal employment, she joined the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in 2019. Karen joined St Mary’s House of Welcome in April 2024 as Stakeholder Engagement Officer, where she coordinates stakeholder activities that deepen connections between the community and St Mary’s House of Welcome.
