Snr Sgt Peta Billing: Positive peace and improving police access for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community

Peta Billing is Senior Sergeant of Police attached to the State Emergencies & Support Command. She is a current mentee on the Victoria Police Leadership Mentoring Program in partnership with Rotary.

She is mentored by Central Melbourne’s Kerrie Hicks and together they are working on a community project to increase accessibility to Police and all emergency services for our deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Peta is a veteran police member with over 20 years’ experience in a diverse range of backgrounds, ranging from general duties, to investigations, specialist crime squads and emergency management.

She has a passion for learning, improving mental health in the workplace and sign language, mother of two, Institute for Economics & Peace Ambassador, Police Legacy ambassador, volunteer and community member.
