LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR

Suvam Ganguli is organising a social dinner on Saturday 10th August 2019 to kick start the social calendar for the Rotary year 2019-20.

Club members have been allocated to a region depending on where they reside and we have appointed a champion for each region to to book a restaurant for the Saturday 10th August for a big group, and send out an email to all the members assigned to their region to confirm attendance. Once the champions have the final numbers they can then confirm the numbers with the restaurant. If there is not enough interest among members in a particular region then we can look to merge regions.

Champions:

Alan Seale - City

Suvam Ganguli - North

Nick Clift - West

Campbell Chambers - East

Neville Taylor - South East

Rob Hines - Bayside

SAUSAGE SIZZLING RETURNS

Well, we are off and running (sizzling??) and a very big thank you to everyone who rolled up last week.

Most people wouldn’t know that we managed 2 Bunnings Sausage Sizzles over the weekend:

Friday 12/7 @ Port Melbourne (our first Rostered day) where we raised $624.20 thanks to the efforts of Alan, Paul (for the first time), Anne, Malcolm (for the second time), Rob,Herb and Leonie and Peter (who found time to cut up the onions before he commenced his long drive to Cairns!). The day was challenging in terms of weather but at least we remained dry!

Sunday 14/7 @ Collingwood (our first Cancellation day) where we raised $692.20 thanks to the efforts of David, Doug, Gerard, Rohan, Sue and Pauline. The day was also challenging in terms of weather, made doubly so by our gas bottle running out with a consequent 20 mins delay before replacement during peak period.

We raised a total of $1316.40 from both days.

Our next Rostered day is at Port Melbourne on Friday 30th August, hopefully almost Spring weather!
