ROTARY BITES #16
Join Rotary members, partners, and thought leaders at the 2025 Rotary Presidential Peace Conference. Leaders from across the globe will come together to learn, exchange ideas, gain inspiration, and build relationships to advance peace - through dialogue, interactive workshops, and insightful presentations. The three-day event will explore important peacebuilding issues of our time, including healing in a divided world, and creating sustainable peace. Take advantage of the many opportunities to share stories, insights, and ideas and engage in meaningful conversations about advancing peace within and beyond our communities.

CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL
As referred to in a recent email, members and friends are invited to take part in Rotary Central Melbourne's annual Christmas Hamper Appeal by filling bags with specific grocery items for Steps Outreach Service and Lentara UnitingCare Asylum Seeker Project (please refer to flyer).

Neville John will have a supply of hamper bags with him at every club in-person event over the coming weeks. Please contact him or Rebecca John if you want to pick up a bag (nrjohn@iprimus.com.au) or to advise how many hampers you will be donating to which charity.

The Community Service Committee has also offered to assist those who want to donate hampers but are unable to shop, in which case a donation of $50 per bag should be be made to the RCM bank account. We need to keep track of all donations so please let Neville or Rebecca know if you are planning to use this offer as soon as possible. The RCM banking details are:
  • BSB:  033000 (Westpac)
  • Account number: 791085
Hampers will be distributed to representatives of Steps and Lentara ASP at the RCM Christmas breakfast on 10th December 2024, at the RACV Club. That is when you bring you filled bags.

ROTARY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Dear Presidents and Secretaries

Rotary Leadership Institute will be run face-to-face in 23 November 2024 and it would be wonderful if you could circulate this information to your club members and encourage them to attend.  It will be very beneficial for members thinking about taking on positions of responsibility in the club or newer members who want to learn more about Rotary.  It is also a fantastic opportunity for club members to meet other like minded people in the District.

Registrations are to me by 18 November.

With best wishes

Jane
