An overview of the Foundation, the areas of focus and how individuals and clubs can get involved

Grant is currently the Regionalisation District Representative and the District 9800 Rotary Foundation Chair. In Rotary he has experienced a lot since he joined Woodend Rotary in 2004, including being President in 2007-08 and again in 2015-16.

At a Rotary District level Grant has served as Community Service Director (2011-2013), Assistant Governor and Executive AG (2013-15), and AG mentor (2017-18). Other roles include Foundation and Grants cluster adviser, Club Vision facilitator and supporting the D9800 Learning and Development (RLI and New Member seminars).

Grant was District 9800 Governor in 2019-20 and formed new District committees for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Environmental Sustainability and Peace. He led the district during the initial challenging period of COVID-19 supporting clubs and the district to adopt on-line meetings, new projects and fundraising opportunities.

Grant has a 36-year career with Ambulance Victoria (AV) and has worked in most operational areas of the organisation including as a MICA Paramedic, Team Manager, Clinical Support Officer, Clinical Manager and is currently the Improvement Lead for the Grampians region of AV. He has an interest in clinical quality and was awarded the Ambulance Service Medal (ASM) in the 2014 Australia Day recognitions for development of Clinical Quality Improvement processes. He was also a member of the Victorian Health Services Review Council for 3 years (2010-2013) and the Victorian Stroke Clinical Network (Victorian Dept. of Health) for 6 years (2012-17).

With an interest in stroke management, Grant has changed internal AV procedures and guidelines and directed state-wide improvements in the outcomes of patients with stroke and many other projects and research. He was awarded the National Stroke Foundation President’s Award in 2018.
