Rotary Inner Melbourne Emergency Relief Network

RIMERN Rotary project operating in Inner Melbourne, providing furniture, appliances and homewares to welfare agency clients who have experienced homelessness, domestic violence, incarceration, refugee displacement and other crises. It is a Centenary of Rotary in Australia, Community Service project, initiated by Rotary Prahran in District 9800, but now proud to call 15 clubs from inner Melbourne active members.

Member Rotary clubs make a minimum annual financial commitment of $1,000 X 3 years, provide two representatives on the Management Committee and organise volunteers from both within their clubs and their wider communities to help with the many and varied tasks needed to operate the service. Clubs that have greater capacity to contribute more, do so as RIMERN pays commercial rent and outgoings, support transport and other costs.

Member Rotary clubs organise working bees at the warehouse at 32-34 Lincoln Street, East Brunswick, and some volunteers also work remotely, liaising with donors of wanted furniture and homewares, applying for grants and doing administration.
