Last Tuesday, 23 September, 10 of our Club Members plus my Granddaughter Sophie ,who was on school holidays, ventured out to Rotary’s DIK Warehouse in West Footscray and joined forces with the “regulars” to make a difference.

Colleen D’Offay, DIK Manager, gave our Club 2 tasks…one was the usual in the Clothing Bay of unpacking new clothes, school uniforms in this case, untagging and repacking and labelling in boxes destined for one of the Pacific Islands. The second was “a job I’ve wanted doing for 12 months”, according to Colleen…that of “attacking the Medical Bay” and actually seeing what was there, moving what shouldn’t have been there, consolidating goods and equipment into like categories and labelling same. The result was a new looking Bay with spare space and where required goods for despatch will be entirely visible.
By midday, job done and Colleen was wrapt!

Well done everyone and thanks. We might be back well within the scheduled 6 months return. And, down the track, we might be able to arrange a joint activity at DIK partnering with students from St Aloysius, North Melbourne.
