DO YOU HAVE OLD MOBILE PHONES?

CAN YOU DONATE THEM FOR OUR DV SAFE PHONE PROJECT?

This project supports the DV Safe Phone National Plan to end violence against women and children and to end gender based violence within one generation.

We collect “no longer wanted” mobile phones for DV safe phone a registered charity based in Mooloolaba, Queensland. The phones are repaired and given to domestic violence survivors to assist their safety and security.

We had our first successful collection last May. Its now time for our next collection. Please speak to your family, friends and work colleagues.

Phones should have content erased, although DV Safe Phone will ensure that occurs in any event. For iPhones it is important to sign out of our iCloud and iTunes and Appstore. For Android or Samsung Galaxy, it is important to sign out of accounts and encrypt old data before erasing device. We can provide simple steps instructions.

Next steps:
  • Look for your old phones.
  • Email Tom Callander tcallander@rigbycooke.com.au if you can donate them.
  • Erase data (if possible). Ask for the simple steps instructions if required.
  • Bring phones to our next in person meeting at RACV on 3 September 2024 (alternatively make other arrangements with Tom Callander).
  • We will then deliver all phones to DV Safe Phone.
