Club members will recollect Central Melbourne's offer of financial assistance to our sister club Rabindra Sarobar in Calcutta, to purchase oxygen concentrators to help ease breathing problems for seriously afflicted COVID patients. Rob Hines, Fundraising Committee Chair, RCM, received this message on 23rd August from Uttam Ganguli at our sister club in Calcutta:
We have purchased the Oxygen Concentrators and plan to hand them over to the beneficiaries in a meeting to be held this Thursday 25th August at 3:30pm India Standard Time. We shall be delighted if you and your club president and members join the meeting virtually to share the joy of giving with us. The zoom link is attached for you to share with your club and donors.
Various members joined the call on Thursday and were delighted by the gratitude and sentiments expressed by our fellow Rotarians in Calcutta; it was a wonderful occasion to witness through the power of technology and the enduring spirit of help for humankind.
