The trailer that was a key part of RCM's Community Village Project has begun a new life. Like many retirees it has undergone a Sea Change!
When the Night Rider Bus service was replaced with all night public transport from the CBD, the Community Village project was no longer needed and the trailer became surplus for our needs. After many options were explored, to was decided to donate the trailer to the Phillip Island Landcare Group.
It will be used to support their tree planting days and for promotional activities. The first outing will be at a Community Open Day on March 3rd. The group also plan to make the trailer available to other groups in the Bass Landcare Network and Coastcare groups.
RC Central Melbourne is looking to get involved in tree planting efforts with the group as part of our environmental work to continue the partnership with them.
Be warned though that planting is done in winter and early spring so tropical shirts may not cut it as protective gear then!
